Under the general supervision of the Agricultural Supervisor II, this position provides highly skilled assistance to Field Research and Farm Operations Center support staff and research personnel with a focus upon management of pesticide operations; recommends and performs the majority of Center pesticide applications; independently sets up and calibrates simple to and complex spray equipment; records pesticide applications using computer software; maintains the pesticide storage and the associated waste handling facilities according to procedures; independently operates and performs basic maintenance on all of KARE's farm equipment (small to large horsepower tractors, farm machinery employed in permanent and annual plantings, and specialized equipment such as laser levelers, harvesters, hay equipment, motor grader and backhoe); independently performs a wide variety of cultural tasks in a very wide diversity of to KARE tree, vine, row and field crops; and collects and records research data as needed.
Pay Scale: $23.58 to $28.17/hr.
